Bowman Learning Hub
A low demand, semi-structured day of learning.
Bowman Learning Hub provides a safe, semi-structured environment where children aged 5–10 can dive into academic core skills without the pressure of a traditional classroom. Led by a qualified teacher, our Hub is a "middle ground" for home-educated families—offering expert guidance while deeply respecting each child’s autonomy.
Our Morning Rhythm: Core Skills & Curiosity
We believe that Maths and English don't have to be "high-demand" to be effective. Our mornings are dedicated to:
-
English and Maths: Children are invited to take part in an english focused activity usually related to a book or event as well as given the opportunity to work through tailored maths workbooks and activities with the 1-to-1 support of a qualified teacher.
-
Interest-Led Play: We ensure there is always plenty of time to follow a sudden spark of curiosity or engage in social play.
Our Afternoon Rhythm: Adventure & Projects
Afternoons at the Hub are about expanding horizons and burning off energy. Depending on the season and the mood of the group, we pivot between:
-
Outdoor Exploration: Immersive sessions at the local woods or free-flow play at the park.
-
Project-Based Learning: Inspired topics designed to build new skills, foster curiosity, and encourage collaborative thinking.
Small Groups, Big Impact
To ensure every child feels seen and supported, we strictly limit our groups to a maximum of 14 children. This small-scale setting allows us to:
-
Value each child as an individual.
-
Foster deep, meaningful friendships.
-
Allow children to explore learning at their own natural pace.
At Bowman Learning Hub, we don't just teach—we provide the space for your child to thrive.

Otters Crafts and Play
Otters Crafts and Play is a child-led, low-demand day designed specifically for home-educated children aged 2–9. Operating from our dedicated hall in Ashley Green, we provide a "home away from home" where children are empowered to follow their own interests and build genuine confidence.
Our Ethos: Freedom to Explore
We believe that play is the most powerful form of learning. Our sessions offer a balance of "invitations" to create and the freedom to simply be.
-
Creative Freedom: Children have full access to an extensive range of craft materials, from painting and bracelet making to seasonal projects.
-
A World of Imagination: Our space is stocked with fancy dress, board games, toys, and a cozy book nook, allowing for hours of immersive, self-directed play.
-
The Great Outdoors: We believe time in nature is essential. Alongside our own outdoor space, we regularly explore the local woods and village playground to stay connected with the seasons.
Confidence Through Autonomy
At Otters, there are no rigid schedules or "must-do" tasks. By providing a safe, supportive environment led by experienced facilitators, we allow children the space and time to develop their own ideas, form deep friendships, and grow into happy, confident individuals.

Personalised Tuition
As a qualified teacher, I understand that every child’s learning journey is unique. Some children need a gentle hand to navigate subjects they find challenging, while others thrive when given the dedicated time to master and hone the skills they’ve already begun to grasp.
I offer high-quality, personalised tuition designed to meet your child exactly where they are. Whether we are working from my home in Tring or connecting online via Zoom, my goal is to create a low-pressure environment where your child feels empowered to achieve their best.
How I Can Support Your Child:
-
Core Subjects: Targeted sessions in Maths, Phonics, and Writing.
-
Creative Learning: Topic-based sessions to spark curiosity and deeper understanding.
-
Confidence Building: Using a "meet them where they are" approach to reduce anxiety around learning.
-
Flexible Delivery: Available for 1:1 focus or small, collaborative groups.
A Bespoke Approach
No two sessions are the same. I tailor every lesson to your child's specific pace, interests, and learning style, ensuring they don't just "learn the subject," but build the confidence to become independent, lifelong learners.
